Apply to Be A Guardian Home

Guardian Homes must agree to and fall within the following parameters:

​

  • Must live within 3 hours of LaSalle, ON

  • Must be willing to drive dog to us or meet part way

  • Must be willing to allow the dog to live with us for the 8 weeks the puppies are here, each time she is bred or when he needs to be studded 

  • Must be willing to visit us 3 times before breeding to keep the dog comfortable with us, plus bring the dog to us for health testing

  • Must keep the dog on Purina Pro Plan or an agreed-upon alternative of equal quality 

  • Must keep an open dialogue with us

Guardian Application
Will you keep an open line of communication with us? Required
Do you agree to bring the dog to us for breeding, when needed? Required
Would you meet up for play dates or visits to help with the dogs comfort levels? Required
Are you comfortable with your dog staying with us? (females - 8wks, males - a few days) Required
Part of developing a quality breeding dog is proper socialization & training. Do you agree to take your dog to training? Required
Do you agree to keep the dog on a high quality dog food? Required
Do you understand that DTL will be responsible for any breeding related expences (testing)? Required
How many litters would you agree to? (Females only) Required
Do you understand that as the co-owner of a DTL stud, we would utilize him for numerous years and an unspecified number of times a year, depending on demand? (studs only) Required
Do you understand that the expenses related to the general care of the dog will be your responsibility? (Annual vaccinations, regular grooming, etc) Required
Do you understand that the puppy will legally belong to DTL during the duration of the breeding contract & that failure to comply with the conract will result in the pup being returned to us and/or legal recourse? Required
